2. These terms and our other policies
These terms apply to every order that you place on this website. Read them before you order.
Two other documents apply with these terms:
- Our shipping and returns policy explains delivery, delivery cost, risk, delivery problems, cancellation, returns, refunds, faulty goods, commissions and complaints.
- Our privacy policy explains what we do with your personal information, and what this website stores in your browser.
Each document covers a different subject. If one of these documents contradicts these terms on a subject that the document covers, the document applies.
Who these terms cover. These terms cover an order that you place on this website as a consumer, for your own use or as a gift. They do not cover our supply to a business. We supply restaurants, hotels and other businesses under a separate written trade agreement. We do not publish that agreement. If you buy for a business, ask us for it through our contact form. These terms also do not cover a sale that we make at our studio, at a market, or at any other place away from this website.
3. Who can order
You must be 18 years or older to order from this website. You must also be able to enter a contract. You must order as a consumer. Do not use this website to order for a business, to resell our goods, or to supply them in a restaurant, a hotel or another business.
If you order for a business through this website, tell us. We can then cancel the order and refund you, or we can supply the goods under our trade agreement.
When you place an order, you accept these terms.
4. Prices
Every price is in South African rand and includes VAT. We send you a tax invoice with your order.
We can change a price at any time. The price that the website shows when you place your order is the price that you pay. A change after that date does not affect your order.
A price can be wrong. If we find an error in the price of the goods that you ordered, we tell you and we do not dispatch. You can then confirm the order at the correct price, or you can cancel it. If you cancel, we refund every amount that you paid. We do not have to sell you goods at an incorrect price.
Clause 2 of our shipping and returns policy explains the delivery cost.
5. Availability
We make each piece by hand and we hold a small stock. This website can show an item that we no longer have.
We can cancel your order before we dispatch it. We do this if we no longer have the piece, or if we cannot make it. We tell you, and we refund every amount that you paid. Clause 6 of our shipping and returns policy explains what we do when we cannot supply your order.
6. When a contract forms
Follow these steps to place an order:
- Put the goods in your cart.
- Give us your delivery details.
- Examine the order summary on the checkout page. Correct any error before you continue. You can also stop at this point and place no order.
- Pay for the order.
If you pay by card, we send you an email that tells you that your order is in process. This email is our acceptance, and the contract forms when we send it.
If you pay by EFT, we first send you an email that tells you that we wait for your payment. This first email is not our acceptance. When your payment reaches our account, we send you a second email that tells you that your order is in process. That second email is our acceptance, and the contract forms when we send it.
Clause 4 explains what we do if a price was wrong. Clause 5 explains what we do if we no longer have the piece.
7. Payment
You can pay by card or by EFT.
Card. Yoco processes card payments on its own systems. You give your card details to Yoco. We never see or store your card number.
EFT. Select EFT at the checkout. We then give you our bank details, on the order page and in an email. Use your order number as the payment reference. Send your proof of payment to online@corinnedehaas.com.
We hold an unpaid EFT order for 3 business days. If the money does not reach our account in this period, we cancel the order and we return the goods to our stock. Tell us if you need more time.
An encrypted connection protects every page of this website. Yoco encrypts your card details.
We dispatch after we receive your payment. Clause 3 of our shipping and returns policy explains the dispatch times.
8. Product photographs and handmade variation
Our photographs show the type of piece that you order. They do not show the exact piece that you receive. The colour on your screen can differ from the colour of the glaze.
Each product page gives the dimensions, the glaze colour and the capacity of the piece. These details describe the goods.
Clause 12 of our shipping and returns policy explains handmade variation. Clause 11 of that policy explains what to do if the goods do not match the description.
9. How you can use this website
You can use this website to look at our goods and to place an order.
Do not do these things:
- Do not copy any part of this website for a commercial purpose.
- Do not use an automatic program to collect data from this website.
- Do not send a virus or any other harmful code to this website.
- Do not try to get access to any part of this website that we do not publish.
- Do not give us false information, and do not order in the name of another person.
- Do not use our contact form to send advertising.
If you do any of these things, we can refuse you access to this website. Some of these acts are also criminal offences, and we can report them to the South African Police Service.
10. Our intellectual property
We own the photographs, the text and the designs on this website. Copyright protects them. Corinne de Haas Ceramics is our trade name.
You can look at this website, and you can print a page for your own use. You cannot copy, publish, sell or change our photographs, our text or our designs without our written permission. Do not reproduce our designs for sale.
If you send us a photograph or a drawing for a commission, it stays yours. You give us permission to use it to make your piece.
11. Our liability
We do not limit our liability for death or injury that we cause, for fraud, or for anything that the Consumer Protection Act does not let us limit.
We are liable to you for the goods that we sell you. Clause 10 of our shipping and returns policy explains your rights when goods are faulty. Clause 11 of that policy explains your rights when goods do not match the description.
We are not liable for indirect loss. A loss of profit is an example. The loss of an event because a parcel arrived late is another example.
This website can be unavailable. We do not promise that it operates without interruption, and we are not liable for a loss that an interruption causes.
12. Changes to these terms
We can change these terms. The date at the top shows the last change. The version that was on this website on the date of your order applies to your order.
13. Law and disputes
South African law governs these terms and every contract that we make with you.
A South African court decides any dispute. We consent to the jurisdiction of the Magistrates’ Court. This does not stop you from using another court.
Clause 17 of our shipping and returns policy explains how to complain before you go to court.
If a court finds that one part of these terms is invalid, every other part stays in force.
